International Health Certificates

Preparing for Travel

If you plan to travel internationally with your pet, many countries require a health certificate for entry.

We are pleased to offer guidance to our established patients regarding the necessary steps to meet these requirements. Regulations vary widely by country and often have precise timing stipulations, such as when a microchip must be implanted (if required), Rabies vaccinations, and the issuance date of the health certificate.

When contacting us, please provide essential information including the destination country, intended travel date, microchip implantation date, and a full Rabies vaccination history. If we did not administer the microchip or the most recent Rabies vaccine, prior records, including Rabies certificates, will be required. In some cases, multiple Rabies certificates may be necessary.

Most countries require that the health certificate be issued by one of our five USDA Accredited veterinarians and then endorsed by a USDA federal veterinarian. Our doctors utilize the online endorsement portal and will take care of submitting the documents to the USDA for you.
