Our Doctors

Dr. Andrew Kaplan

Owner

Dr. Andrew Kaplan completed his B.S. degree at Albany State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1986. He then attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating sixth in his class in 1990.

Taking his DVM degree to the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, he completed a one-year internship in medicine and surgery followed by a two-year residency in internal medicine. Dr. Kaplan accepted a position as an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where he taught clinical medicine to fourth-year veterinary students until 1995.

He then practiced in both specialty and general private practices in northern California and New York City until he opened City Veterinary Care in November of 2003.  He passed his certifying examination for the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1995, denoting him a Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist.

Dr. Kaplan was featured in New York Magazine’s “Best Vets” issue in 2002 and again in 2006, when City Veterinary Care was named the “Best Private Veterinary Practice” in New York City. He is the founder of The Toby Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating pet overpopulation in New York City.

Dr. Anne Cloudman

DVM

Originally from Darien, CT, Dr. Anne Cloudman completed her A.B. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dartmouth College, graduating Cum Laude.

She attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating first in her class in 2006. She then completed a one year internship program in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center.

Dr. Cloudman came to City Veterinary Care in 2007 after leaving the AMC. She lives on the Upper West Side with her husband, their twin daughters and two adorable orange tabbies.

Dr. Amelia Khan

DVM

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Amelia Khan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in Animal Bioscience in 2006. She attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010.

With dreams of the big city, Dr. Khan pursued a one-year internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center and was happy to become a part of City Veterinary Care following completion. Her professional interests include emergency/critical care and internal medicine.

In early 2017, Dr. Khan completed specialized ultrasound courses at the Academy of Veterinary Imaging, and she now performs abdominal ultrasounds at City Veterinary Care. She currently lives on the Upper West Side with her fiance, their cats, Manolo and Badgley, and their dog, Edie.

Dr. Justin Lamb

DVM

Dr. Justin Lamb is a graduate of Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing in NYC since 2012.

After graduation, Dr. Lamb completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine & surgery at The Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, followed by a specialty internship in Emergency & Critical Care Medicine back at Tufts.

As an ethical vegan for over 20 years, Dr. Lamb has a deep understanding of the importance of the human-animal bond and harnesses those values in his practice of veterinary medicine.  Dr. Lamb is also the veterinary director and organizer for NYC’s One Health Street Clinic for people experiencing homelessness and their pets working closely with non-profit organizations like Positive Tails, Street Dog Coalition, and My Dog Is My Home.

Dr. Lamb lives in Brooklyn with his wife, two rescue dogs, and a handful of cats.

Dr. Caitlin Hummel

DVM

Dr. Caitlin Hummel is originally from Somerset, New Jersey. She attended Michigan State University where she obtained her B.S. degree in Zoology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution and Organismal biology. She then went on to pursue her veterinary degree at Oklahoma State University where she graduated in 2017.

After graduation, Dr. Hummel moved to NYC and practiced in New Jersey for several years. She is thrilled to be working in the city and as a member of the City Veterinary Care family.

As a general practitioner she is interested in all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is specially drawn to internal medicine and surgery. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, traveling and exploring New York City.

Dr. Alexis Holroyde

DVM

Dr. Alexis Holroyde grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs. She obtained her BA in psychology from New York University in 2005.

After taking a year off to work in the Philadelphia Zoo as a presenter in the Children’s Zoo, she went to Veterinary School at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Holroyde then went on to complete a year of small animal internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC.

For the last 10 years, Dr. Holroyde has been working in general practice in lower Manhattan. She currently lives on the Upper West Side with her husband and feisty cat “Chef”. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking and gardening.

Dr. Jessica Sieger

DVM

Dr. Jessica Sieger was raised on Long Island about an hour outside of Manhattan. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science at Cornell University in 2016, followed by her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2021, also at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Sieger completed a one-year internship program in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center before joining the team at City Veterinary Care. Her professional interests include management of chronic diseases and providing routine care for the healthy dogs and cats of New York City!

Dr. Sieger lives on the Upper East Side with her husband and two cats, Savannah and Niko. Outside of work, you may find Dr. Sieger hiking, running, birdwatching in Central Park, or scoping out the best places to eat in New York City.

Dr. Kendall Leet-Otley

DVM

A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Dr. Kendall Leet-Otley graduated Magna Cum Laude from Williams College with a B.A. in Biology. She then went on to graduate first in her class at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.

After veterinary school, Dr. Leet-Otley completed a one-year rotating internship in general medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Among a wide variety of professional interests, she is particularly passionate about emergency medicine and wellness care. Her research in antibiotic stewardship led to publishing a paper in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Kendall lives on the Upper East Side with her husband, Kevin, and their whippet, Nittany. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, yoga, running in Central Park, and any outdoor activity.

Dr. Brad Cingolani

DVM

A native of Westchester County, New York, Dr. Cingolani graduated major valedictorian with a B.A. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minor in Chemistry. He then went on to graduate Cum Laude at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.

After veterinary school, Dr. Cingolani completed a one-year rotating internship in general medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Among a wide variety of professional interests, he is particularly passionate about dentistry, emergency medicine, and wellness/geriatric care.

Brad lives on the Upper East Side with his cat, Sonny, and dog, Babe. In his leisure time, he enjoys cooking, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Marissa Monopoli

DVM

Dr. Marissa Monopoli grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where her path to veterinary medicine was carved at a young age as a volunteer marine mammal rehabilitator. She studied Zoology and Italian at The Ohio State University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

She then returned to California to complete her studies at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was president of the Student Veterinary Emergency Response Team. She graduated with honors, and published multiple research studies pertaining to avian medicine.

After veterinary school, Dr. Monopoli completed a one-year rotating internship in general medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Monopoli’s particular interests include radiology, ophthalmology, and wellness.

She recently moved to Brooklyn, where she lives with her blind cat, Stevie. In her free time, you can find Dr. Monopoli roller skating, practicing yoga, cooking, and exploring the city.
